California Tech Trek Camp

Tech Trek is a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) camp designed to develop interest, excitement, and self-confidence in young women who will enter eighth grade in the fall. It features hands-on activities in STEM-related fields. All sleeping, eating, instructional and recreational facilities are located on a university campus where camps are held. Learn more HERE.

The cost per girl to attend camp is $1,000; parents are asked to contribute only $50 of this amount, so any contributions you make are very helpful. Attached is a donation form if you wish to make a donation.

TECH TREK DONATION FORM

AAUW Foothills of El Dorado County currently provides a sponsorship for six or more local girls to a week-long science and technology residential camp on the campus of UC Davis. Subjects are taught by women who teach or work in scientific fields including Veterinary Science, math, engineering and Computer Science. Our girls will have hands-on experiences in chemistry, biology and engineering.

Their 7th grade teachers nominate girls, after which our branch employs a comprehensive screening process to select the attendees.

The cost is $900 per student. We request parents to pay only $50.

Therefore, your support is a very important source of funding for this program. Your contribution will go toward our local attendees only.

Checks should be payable to ‘AAUW CA-SPF’  or ‘AAUW-Special Projects Fund’, with notation on the memo line “for Tech Trek”. 

The checks are forwarded to the UC Davis Tech Trek treasurer and are fully deductible as charitable contributions to this 501(c)3 organization:  FEIN #68-0463071
