Each year, the American Association of University Women (AAUW) holds a National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL) where hundreds of young women come to turn a “moment into a movement.” College women from around the country gather for three days of leadership training, inspiration and networking. These young leaders come from around the nation to educate themselves on contemporary issues facing leaders. At NCCWSL, you will attend workshops, hear from some of today’s most inspirational women, have the opportunity to network with professionals, develop new leadership skills, and make lifelong connections with peers across the country. This scholarship, sponsored by the Foothills of El Dorado County branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), provides funding for a female Folsom Lake College student to attend the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL) which will be held May 30, 2024 – June 1, 2024 at the University of Maryland, College Park – in the DC Metro area. The scholarship covers registration for the event, room and board on the University of Maryland campus, and round-trip airfare. Participants may be responsible for additional meals and housing depending on flights.

Requirements:
Must be a female student between the ages of 18 and 25
Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
Must be currently enrolled full-time at Folsom Lake College
Must currently be involved in a leadership role on campus.
Must be available May 30, 2024 – June 1, 2024.
Must be willing to report, in person, at a meeting of the branch members on the experience at NCCWSL to the Foothills of El Dorado County branch of AAUW.
